The rise of digital tools, especially social media, has significantly reshaped how people engage with religion across the world. For youth, the internet is now a main and very personal way to find knowledge, shape identity, and find community. This modern change involves balancing religious traditions with the fast pace of online platforms, which is a shift particularly important in Singapore with both great digital access and strong religious harmony. Therefore, young Singaporean Muslims are in a unique position: how do they navigate and engage with online Islamic content as citizens in a multi-racial, multi-religious, secular state and at the same time meaningfully participate in a fast-moving global religious online sphere?
This study answers core questions pertaining to youth perceptions of online Islamic content in providing a comprehensive understanding of how and why content is consumed, while introducing a starting point to practical recommendations to better engage youths in the digital sphere.
